Police have arrested an additional secretary of the public administration ministry on charges of torturing his wife for dowry.
The accused, Dr Jakir Hossain, was arrested in from residence at Superior Officers' Quarters on Dhaka’s Bailey Road on Saturday (Nov 30), Ramna police OC Monirul Islam told Bangla Tribune.
Hossain's wife Fatema Jahan Bari filed the lawsuit, in which police arrested the official on the evening, Islam added.
