The government will build a total of 560 model mosques across the country soon, a media release of Islamic Foundation (IF) said.
“Model mosques will be constructed in each district and upazila of the country,” Religious Affairs Secretary Md Anisur Rahman told a view exchange meeting with divisional and district level officials in the conference room of Islamic Foundation in the capital on Friday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina laid foundation stone of nine mosques through video conference on April 5, he said adding, ”We are expecting to start construction work of these mosques soon.”
Anisur said among these 560 model mosques, the construction work of nearly 300 will be started within December this year.
