The investigation arm of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has completed its probe on three Jhenaidah men for crimes committed during the 1971 Liberation War.
The agency’s Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Khan and senior officer M Sanaul Huq disclosed their findings at a media call on Sunday (Nov 24).
The three accused are Md Abdur Rashid Miah, 66, Md Shaheb Ali Malitha, 68, and another unnamed fugitive, who lived at Jhenaidah during Liberation War.
Two allegations of crimes against humanity have been brought against them.
>>A group of Razakars including Rashid, his associate Malitha and the other unnamed one has attacked the house of Azibor Mandol at Jhenaidah on Jun 17, 1971 to capture freedom fighter Mohir Uddin Mandol and freedom fighter Asir Uddin Mandol. As the two freedom fighters weren’t at home on that day, the Razakars tortured and abducted other three brothers of them: Azibor, Habibor Rahman Mandol alias Haba Mandol and Ansar Mandol. They took the Mandol brothers to Dhopaghata Bridge at Magura road and shot dead. The bodies were thrown into Naboganga River from the bridge.
