Hospitals admit 100 dengue patients in 24 hrs

Till Friday (Nov 22) morning, 48 new patients were admitted in Dhaka and 52 in districts outside Dhaka, according to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room statement.
Meanwhile, 106 dengue patients have been released from hospitals, it added.
DGHS said that the number of patients currently undergoing treatment in state-run and private hospitals across the country is 559.
According to the DGHS data, as many as 286 patients are currently receiving treatment in 41 state-run and private hospitals in Dhaka, whereas 273 people are undergoing treatment outside Dhaka.
The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) reviewed 193 cases out of 264 reported, among which it confirmed 121 dengue deaths.
Since Jan 1 this year, as many as 99,363 people have been affected by the mosquito-borne virus.
Among those admitted, 98,540 have been released from the hospitals and clinics after treatment.
