Korea International Cooperation AgencyKorea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and KOICA Bangladesh Alumni Association (KBAA) jointly held KOICA Bangladesh Alumni Night 2019 at InterContinental Dhaka on Thursday (Nov 21).
The occasion aimed at deepening ties between the two countries was graced by Monzur Hossain, President of KBAA and Chairman of Rupali Bank Limited; Md Nojibur Rahman, Principal Secretary, Nazrul Islam, Secretary, Road Transport and Highways Division and Vice President, KBAA, Hu Kang-il, Ambassador of Korea and Joe Hyun-Gue, Country Director, KOICA Bangladesh Office among other high-level dignitaries.
Md. Nojibur Rahman expressed his sincere appreciation for KOICA’s contribution emphasizing that Bangladesh like Korea can also reach the developed country status by 2041. Similarly, Nazrul Islam appreciated KOICA’s invitational fellowship programmes and mentioned Korea’s increasing role in Bangladesh’s economic growth through Korean investments and economic cooperation.
Hu Kang-il mentioned the growing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Korea over the last 46 years and added how he strongly believes that Bangladesh can achieve similar economic progress and development as Korea through devotion.
Joe Hyun-Gue, further urged to stand together towards development leaving no one behind for people-centered for peace, prosperity and planet aligned with KOICA’s slogan.
He added that since KOICA’s establishment in 1991, the government of Korea supported over 2,300 government officials through capacity building programs in KOICA’s priority areas i.e. education and skill development, transportation, public health and ICT.
