A woman has died, and at least one other injured, in a fire that broke out at a residential building in Dhaka's Dhanmondi area.

The 65-year-old woman died after she was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, Fire Service and Civil Defence control room duty officer Russel Shikdar confirmed Bangla Tribune.

Another injured, a 12-year-old girl, is currently undergoing treatment said Dhanmondi OC Abdul Latif.

Their identities are yet to be disclosed.

The fire erupted on the fourth floor of a 12-storied building in Dhanmondi 6/A, around 9:25 am on Saturday (Oct 26).

Three fire fighting units worked and extinguished the fire around 10:10 am, Russel said.

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
