A court in Dhaka has fixed Nov 11 as the date for submission of a probe report over the bribery charges against suspended deputy inspector general Mizanur Rahman and suspended Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) director Khandaker Enamul Basir.
Dhaka Senior Special Judge KM Imrul Kayes issued the order on Wednesday (Oct 2) after the investigating officer ACC director Sheikh Mohammad Fanafilla failed to submit it.
According to the case details, Enamul Basir, who was assigned to look into the corruption allegations against DIG Mizanur, took Tk 4 million as bribe from him with a promise to give him a clean chit.
DIG Mizanur, former additional commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), was withdrawn in January 2018 following allegations of threatening a female news presenter of a private television channel.
Mizanur reportedly picked up a 25-year-old woman in July 2017 and forcibly married her.
