Lawmaker Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury filed a case against police inspector Saif Amin under the ICT act on Wednesday (Sept 25).

Shamsul, also a whip of the current 11th parliament filed the case to the court of Cyber Tribunal Judge As-Shams Joglul Hossen.

The court ordered the counter-terrorism unit of the police to submit an investigation report on the accusation by Oct 30.

The police official Saif Amin posted a status on his Facebook page on Sept 20 making public that the ruling party lawmaker has earned Tk 1.80 billion from gambling business in five years.

Earlier on Sept 24, police headquarters issued a suspension letter against Saif Amin on allegation of violating police code of conduct and attached him to Rangpur range.
