All the courts across the country have started displaying portraits of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman following a High Court order.
Supreme Court Special Officer Barrister Md Saifur Rahman confirmed the matter to Bangla Tribune on Wednesday (Sept 25).
On Aug 29, the HC ordered that the portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman should be displayed and maintained in all the courtrooms across the country.
The bench of FRM Nazmul Ahasan and KM Kamrul Kader gave the order after hearing a petition on the matter.
After that, the law ministry issued a notification on Monday (Sept 23) saying that the HC order should be carried out within two months.
Barrister Saifur Rahman said that the order was being implemented in all the courts starting from the lower courts to the Supreme Court.
