Thunderstorms have claimed the lives of 246 people across the country between February and August this year, according to a recent study.
The study was conducted by Save the Society and Thunderstorm Awareness Forum who collected information from several national and local dailies, online news portal and television scrolls.
The forum unveiled its finding on Sunday (Sept 8) during a media call in Dhaka.
It also said 97 people were injured as well. Among the killed, 202 are male, 30 female, eight teenagers, and six children.
Among the 246 deceased, most were killed while collecting paddy from the fields, with the highest 22 killed in Satkhira district.
