A suspected operative of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) has been arrested from Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
On Monday (Sept 2), the Special Task Force said to held Abul Kashem, from Canal East Road near Gaznabi bridge, reports ANI.
Hailing from Mangolkote in Burdwan, Kashem is a foot soldier, who had come to Kolkata from Jharkhand to attend a JMB camp on the instructions of JMB chief Salauddin Salahein, reports Times of India claiming police sources.
The arrest comes soon after Ejaz Ahmad, the head of Indian operations of JMB was nabbed.
A case has been registered in this matter. The accused has been sent to the judicial custody till September 16.
According to police officials, several incriminating articles were recovered from his possession.
On the basis of disclosures made by Kashem about JMB and other members, a specific case has been registered by the Special Task Force (STF).
