The Supreme Court's chamber judge has upheld the High Court order, which granted bail to Ayesha Siddiqua Minni, in a case filed over the murder of her husband Rifat Sharif.

On Monday (Sept 2), the state moved to Justice Hasan Foez Siddique with a petition seeking to freeze Minni's bail.  

The court, however, did not give any order regarding the petition.

On Sunday (Sept 1), the High Court released a seven-page-long full text of its judgment that granted bail to Minni.

Following this, there is no bar for the authorities concerned to take necessary steps for Minni’s release from the Barguna prison.
