Two members of banned militant outfit Ansar Al Islam have been arrested in Dhaka.
The arrest was made by a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) from the capital's Sadarghat Launch Terminal on Saturday (Aug 31), said Mohiuddin Faruki, company commander of Rab-2.
The detainees have been identified as Abu Saleh Imu, 22, a 4th-year student of management department in Barishal BM College and Shafikul Islam Saif, 31, a teacher of the college.
Faruki said tipped-off, RAB conducted a raid and arrested the duo after they arrived in the launch terminal from Barishal in the morning.
The elite force also recovered books on extremism and leaflets from their possession.
Both of them hail from Barishal's Banaripara Upazila and they are directors of militancy websites Banaripara Ummah Network and Ibadah Dotcom, Faruki said.
Legal action would be taken against them, he added.
