Around 3.6 million cases are pending with different courts across Bangladesh, leading to immeasurable suffering to the litigants.
According to a study by the Supreme Court, a total of 3,598,263 cases were pending with the courts across the country till Jun 30.
A total of 321,824 cases were disposed of by the courts since Apr 1 to Jun 30.
Besides, a total of 21,410 cases were pending with the Appellate Division till Jun 30 after 2,210 cases were filed and 2,613 were disposed of by the courts during the same period.
However, a total of 488,562 cases were pending with the High Court after 27,107 cases were filed and 45,238 were disposed from Apr to Jun.
A total of 3,088,291 cases are currently pending with the lower courts across the country.
From Apr 1 to Jun 30, 2019, a total of 336,158 cases were filed and 281,073 were disposed of, the Supreme Court report added.
