Shahidul Alam’s case stayed for another two months

Shahidul Alam. Photo taken from his Facebook ID.The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has reinstated the two-month stay order on the ICT case against photographer Dr Shahidul Alam.
The court has also issued a ruling ordering the settlement of the case by Dec 18 next. The order came from an appellate division bench led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain.
At the court, the state was represented by the attorney general, Mahbubey Alam while Shahidul Huq by barrister Jyotirmoy Barua.
On Mar 14, the investigation of the case was stayed by the high court for three months.
That order was given by a joint bench of justices Sheikh Hassan Arif and Rajik-Al-Jalil. The state then lodged an appeal asking for the staying of that order.
Shahidul Alam was arrested on Aug 6, 2018, under the ICT act and sent to prison. He was granted bail on Nov 15.
