BSTI revokes licence of 13 products

The BSTI surveillance team collected the sample of different products from the markets and ran lab tests before scrapping the certification marks (CM) licence of the 13 products, says a statement issued by the standard regulator on Wednesday (Aug 7).
Products whose licence have been revoked are Firm Fresh Ghee of Akhis Food & Beverage Limited, Shakti and Kitchen fortified soybean oil of Edible Pvt Ltd, Safe fortified soybean oil of AK Khan's Food and Beverage, Camel iodine salt of Bismillah Salt Factory, Nazrul iodine Salt of Janata Salt Mill, Medina laccha vermicelli of of JK Food Product, Modern Skin Cream of Modern Cosmetics and Herbal Industries Ltd., GM Skin Care Cream of GM Chemical Works, Arabian Special Ghee of New Chattala (Pvt) Limited, Raven laccha vermicelli of Raven Food Company Limited and laccha vermicelli, ghee, and Chanacur of Khazana Mithai Limited.
The BSTI directed the manufactures to withdraw the products from the markets and not hoard, distribute, sell and advertise these until issuing new licenses, reads the statement.
Consumers have also been requested to not buy these products, it adds.
