Syeda Akhter, wife of Additional Inspector General of Police (finance and development division) of Police Headquarters Shahabuddin Qureshi, died of dengue on Sunday (Aug 4).
The 55-year-old passed away while undergoing treatment at Square Hospital in Dhaka at around 11am, confirmed AIG (media) of Police Headquarters Md Sohel Rana.
Syeda Akhter was admitted to the hospital with the fever on Saturday (Aug 3).
She was previously undergoing treatment at the Rajarbag Police Hospital.
Family sources said that the deceased was a native of Rangunia upazila of Chattogram. She lived at the Police Officers’ Quarters, Meghna, in Dhaka with her family.
She is survived by her three sons and a daughter.
