A court in Dhaka has sentenced three people to death and seven others to life term for killing a man in 2011.

Judge Abdur Rahman Sardar of Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 pronounced the verdict on Thursday (Aug 1).

The convicts sentenced to death are Rahim alias Arif, Jiku and Abu Bakar Siddik.

Those sentenced to life term are Monti, Milon, Akash alias Russel, Forhad Hossain, Sajib Ahmed Khan, Shahid Chan Khadem and Mohammad Ali Howladar Babu.

All the convicts except Mohammad Ali Howladar Babu were sentenced in absentia.

According to the case documents, the convicts stabbed Rajab to death at Nawabpur in Kotwali Thana of Dhaka in 2011.
