The hearing on a petition that sought bail to jailed BNP chief Khaleda Zia in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case has been adjourned by the High Court till Wednesday (Jul 31).
The HC bench of justices Obaidul Hassan and SM Kuddus Zaman set the date on Tuesday (Jul 29) after hearing on the bail petition for the day.
Earlier on Jun 28, Khaleda filed a petition in the graft case in which she has been sentenced to seven years in jail and fined Tk 1 million.
A three-time prime minister, Khaleda, in the petition, said she has been suffering from different diseases including diabetes and has already served two and a half years in jail and therefore, she deserves bail in the case.
