Ayesha Siddiqa Minni, arrested in the Rifat killing in Barguna, is unwell – claims her father Mozammel Huq Kishore and lawyer, Mahbubul Bari.
However, no doctor has seen her as yet and as per the instructions of the nurse, she was given medicines for headache.
Barguna jail super Anwar Hossain has said: “Minni only has headache and no other problems, so, there was no need to call a doctor.”
Since she is having trouble eating prison food, his father has given money to a PC card and now she can buy any food she wants from the canteen.
At the women’s ward, there are 15 inmates, including Minni; 13 criminals of the Rifat killing are in different cells and due to shortage of space, the arrested meet one another every day.
Minni’s lawyer, Mahbubul Bari Aslam has said: “Minni has pain all over her body and she walks with a limp and therefore, needs medical help.”
However, the jail super has said: “If an inmate is sick s/he is inspected by the district civil surgeon; but Minni’s current condition does not require the attention of the doctor.”
