A court in Dhaka has granted police custody of three people over the lynching of a woman in the capital’s Badda.
On Monday (Jul 22), Metropolitan Magistrate Dhiman Chandra Mandal remanded suspects Bachchu, Bappi and Shahin, for four days each after the police pleaded for 10 days.
Late on Sunday, police detained the three after identifying them from video footage of the mob beating incident captured on a mobile phone.
On Saturday (Jul 20), the woman was killed by locals, while attempting to enter a school in Badda area of Dhaka.
The deceased, Taslima Begum Renu, 40, lived with her daughter in Mohakhali.
