Representational imageA teenager has been stabbed to death in the city’s Khilgaon area, police said.
Police suspected dispute among the local boys might be the reason behind the murder of 18-year-old Al Amin.
Victim’s grandmother Amena Begum said, “A group of unidentified people chased Al Amin when he went to a fair at Kolarbari area of Nandipara and stabbed him, leaving the boy seriously injured.”
Al Amin was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries at 7.20pm.
The body has been kept at the hospital morgue, said DMCH police outpost SI Bachchu Mia.
Joy, one of the victim’s friends, told Bangla Tribune, “Several youths including Javed, Sohel and Salm knifed him over previous enmity”
The friend, however, could not elaborate the detail on the dispute.
Khilgaon police SI Mohammad Rahim told Bangla Tribune, “We heard that chase and counter-chase took place between two groups at the fair.”
Police visited the spot but yet to get the details on the killing, he added.
