A Dhaka court extended the bail of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia till Jul 10 in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case.
The Special Judge Court-5 passed the order on Thursday as her lawyers filed a petition seeking bail extension.
The court also granted the plea regarding going abroad of another accused Ziaul Islam Munna.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lawyer Mosharraf Hossain Kajal and Khaleda’s legal counsel Sana Ullah Mia were present at the courtroom.
The ACC on Aug 8, 2011 filed the graft case against Khaleda Zia and three others for embezzling Tk 3.15 crore from the trust.
On Feb 8 this year, a special court convicted former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and sentenced her to five years' rigorous imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
