The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) says that it has identified 10 sectors in the railways involved in corruption.
In a report submitted to the Railways Ministry, the graft watchdog also made 15 recommendations to deal with it.
On Tuesday (Jul 2), ACC Commissioner Mohammad Mozammel Haque Khan submitted the report to Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan at his offices.
Land accusations, procurement of machineries and rail track installation have been identified as the major sectors of corruption among others by the ACC.
Speaking to the media later, Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said they have adopted a ‘zero-tolerance policy’ against corruption before adding the ACC recommendations would be implemented.
