Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate a total of 365 flights, including dedicated and scheduled, to carry Hajj pilgrims this year.
Pre-Hajj flights will be operated between Jul 4 and Aug 5, when a total of 189 flights — 157 dedicated and 32 scheduled— will fly from Dhaka to Jeddah and Madina, Biman CEO Farhat Hasan Jamil told a media call on Monday (Jul 1).
As many as 147 flights to carry back pilgrims to Bangladesh will be operated between Aug 17 and Sept 15, he added.
Biman top official Jamil said that the Hajj flights will kick off on Jul 4, when an aircraft carrying 419 pilgrims is expected to fly for Jeddah at 7.15am.
A total of 127,198 Bangladeshis will travel to Saudi Arabia this year for Hajj and Biman will transport 63,599 pilgrims, said the Biman CEO.
