LDP leader Redwan held with bullets at airport

LDP Secretary General Redwan Ahmed.Authorities at the Dhaka airport detained Liberal Democratic Party’s (LDP) senior leader Redwan Ahmed in possession of seven rounds of ammunition.
Later, a Dhaka court granted him bail on charges filed by the police.
The former BNP minister, who now serves as the secretary general of Oli Ahmed-led LDP, was held on Monday (Jul 1), when he went to the airport to catch a flight to Chattogram.
“He has been detained for entering the airport in possession of bullets without declaring it. During initial questioning, he has admitted it was a mistake. The LDP secretary general has been handed over to the Airport Police Station,” Obaidur Rahman, the director of the airport’s Aviation Security (AvSec) told Bangla Tribune.
Later in the day, police produced Redwan before a Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court after starting a case.
The defence moved a bail petition, when the court granted him bail until Jul 17.
