The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has interrogated two of its former officials over the leaked audio clips containing the conversation on bribing another ACC director by a senior police officer.
Former director Abdul Aziz Bhuiyan and AKM Jayed Hossain were interrogated at the watchdog’s headquarters for three hours on Sunday (Jun 30), said Sheikh Md Fanafillah, who heads an inquiry team formed over leaked audio clips.
Bhuiyan is now on LPR (leave preparatory retirement) while Hossain has retired.
The interrogation follows a report published by Bangla Tribune containing multiple audio clips where suspended deputy inspector general Mizanur Rahman was heard offering bribes to ACC Director Enamul Basir, now sacked, in exchange of a probe report.
Names of Bhiuyan and Hossain also came in the conversations between Mizan and a UK expatriate, Abdul Doyas, who seemed to negotiate between Mizan and Basir.
