A Dhaka court has issued warrants for the arrest of 78 students, including those from University of Dhaka (DU), after accepting a charge sheet filed in a case lodged over leaking university admission test question papers.

Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Sorafuzzaman Ansari passed the order, setting Jul 30 as the date to submit a report in this regard by Shahbagh police station, the police station where the case was filed.

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police, on Jun 23, submitted charge sheet against 125 people including 87 Dhaka University students.

Of the accused, 47 have been arrested in the last one and a half years and the rest are absconding, with 46 having given confessional statements.

According to the charge sheet, of the 47 arrested, 18 are from University of Dhaka.

Some officials who were engaged in the investigation said, the leaking incident, in this case, was from Oct 19, 2017.
