High Court has summoned managing director, general manager and deputy general manager of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd, for disregarding court order. They have been asked to appear at court on Jul 2 and give an explanation.
The order was given Tuesday (Jun 25), by a bench of justices FRM Nazmul Ahsan and KM Kamrul Kader.
On Dec 18, 2017, a notice was issued at Titas to appoint 79 persons with many candidates taking part in the exam under freedom fighters’ ward quota.
But they were omitted in the final result; later, a writ was lodged on Nov 20, 2018, asking for a directive to give appointment as per quota.
The court ordered Titas to reserve 30 percent seats until the ruling is resolved.
Later, Titas authority appointed 63 persons but when 17 persons were appointed disregarding the rest, a supplementary appeal was made. In that process, Titas has summoned three leading officials of Titas.
