Air pollution kills 234,000 in Bangladesh every year

Death caused by environment pollution is 10 times higher than road accident, this was revealed by environment experts at a workshop titled “Air pollution and doings for prevention of air pollution” in the conference room of the district administration in Cumilla on Saturday (Jun 15), state news agency BSS reports.
The Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry organized the workshop aiming to educate the people on different aspects of air pollution and finding ways to stop air pollution.
Secretary of the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury while Additional secretary of the ministry Dr SM Manzurul Hannan Khan in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner Md Abdul Fazal Mir, environmentalists and officials from different government and non-government organizations, among others, addressed the workshop.
