A Dhaka court has set Jul 1 for submission of the probe report in the graft case against former chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder fixed the date on Thursday (May 16) after investigation officer of the case and Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director Syed Iqbal Hossain failed to submit the report on the day.
On Sept 27, 2018, Bangladesh National Alliance (BNA) Chairman Barrister Nazmul Huda filed the case against Sinha with Dhaka’s Shahbagh police station, accusing Sinha of changing the verdict in a case in the demand for bribes.
The plaintiff claims Sinha changed the verdict in a case against him despite it having already been disposed of by the High Court, and then demanded Tk2 crore in bribes to dispose of the case.
