Four injured as Helium-filled cylinder explodes in Dhaka

The incident was reported on Tuesday (May 14) at the city’s Motijheel area, police said.
One of the victims, 40-year-old Md Shahin, has been admitted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition with severe burn injuries.
Motijheel police OC Omar Faruk said the vendor was filling balloons on the footpath in front of state-owned Jiban Bima Corporation’s office building when the cylinder exploded.
“The vendor’s assistant and three other pedestrians were injured. One Md Shahin was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition,” he said.
DMCH burns unit Resident Physician Partha Shankar Paul said that Shahin sustained 35 percent burn injuries.
