Hearing for GATCO corruption case deferred to June

Tuesday, May 14, was fixed for the hearing but lawyer for Khaleda Zia asked for a deferment for the hearing citing Khaleda Zia’s hospitalization.

After hearing both sides, special judge Abu Syed Diljar Hossain fixed 18 June as the next hearing date, informed Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Hannan Bhuiyan.

At this time, ACC lawyer, Mosharraf Hossain Kajal was present.

On 2 September, 2007, deputy director of Anti-Corruption Commission, ACC, lodged a case at the Tejgaon police station against 13 persons.

Of the accused, former minister M Saifur Rahman, Abdul Mannan bhuiyan, Jamaat’s amir, Motiur Rahman Nizami and Khaleda Zia’s younger son Arafat Rahman have died.
