10 survivors from Biman’s Yangon crash return home

As many as 10 survivors of Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ recent crash at an airport in Myanmar’s Yangon have returned home.
A special flight of Biman, carrying two injured pilots, two cabin crews, and two ground engineers and four passengers, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11pm on Friday (May 10), said Biman’s spokesperson Shakil Meraj.
Meraj, who is Biman’s general manager (public relation), said the injured would be treated at the city’s Apollo Hospital.
On May 8, Biman’s BG-060 from Dhaka, operated by Dash-8 Q 400 aircraft suffered an overrun incident on landing amid rough weather at approximately 6:22 pm local time at Yangon International Airport, wounding 19 including one infant and six women out of 35 passengers and crews on broad.
“A six-member probe committee led by Biman’s Chief of Flight Safety Shoyeb Chowdhury has been formed to investigate the Yangon crash,” said Meraj adding the panel has been asked to report within 15 working days.
