The government has begun work to bring administrative work under digitization to develop a corruption free and efficient administration.
However, the plan has not seen implementation as yet. Meanwhile, all work of a cluster of primary schools in Pabna has been digitized.
The credit goes to assistant upazila education officer, Md. Aslam Hossain, who has digitized all activities of the primary schools within a cluster.
Pabna district administrator Md. Jasim Uddin says: “Aslam has many innovations and we need more officers like him across the nation.”
Secretary of the ministry of primary and mass education, Md. Akram Al Hossain, told Bangla Tribune: “We are trying to develop digital administration system all over the country; if all clusters are digitized then Bangladesh will truly become a digital state and the PM’s dream will be fulfilled.”
The lowest administrative layer in primary education is a cluster, which is looked after by assistant upazila education officer.
The Baliahalat Cluster is being looked after by assistant upazila education officer, Md Aslam Hossain.
There are 22 schools in the cluster. Teachers take holidays using Messenger or e-mail and all information regarding academic operations are shared via social media and Messenger. The online address is: https://baliahalotcluster.comAt the beginning of 2018, assistant education officer, Aslam began preparation for online service. He submitted a proposal; opened e-mail accounts for teachers followed by Facebook.
Then he inspired teachers to communicate using Messenger and email.
Aslam also took initiative to monitor, observe all academic operations online, making a school website.
He says: “The online monitoring done regularly after the pilot operation succeeded; this has been implemented in three schools and will gradually be applied to all the 22 schools.”
From leave application to school management to sending messages to guardians – everything will be online and teachers are being prepared for this.
Upazila education officer, Mirza Golam Mohammad Beg, said: “This is the first grass root level education cluster, making education administration digital at the grass root level.”
