Airport police has detained a man in possession of 10 gold bars at Dhaka airport.
Forty-year-old Md Erfanul Islam has been held with the gold bars weighing 1.16kg around 3pm on Friday (Apr 26), said Additional Superintendent of Armed Police Battalion (APBN) Md Alamgir Hossain.
Airport sources said that Islam arrived at the airport with Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight (BG 0236) around 2.30pm in the day.
Later, members of the airport police detained him when he was about to ride on a Taxi cab from outside of the airport.
After primary interrogation, he confesses to his possession at his rectum.
A case has been started under anti smuggling provision of the Special Powers Act, said the police official.
