Heat wave may abate as temperature likely to fall

The prevailing mild heat wave may abate at some places over the country as day temperature may fall slightly today.

“Mild heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and it may abate from some places over the country,” said a met office bulletin issued on Friday (Apr 26).

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, reports BSS.

The met bulletin predicted that weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country in the next 24 hours as of 9 am today.

But, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions and at one or two places over Khulna, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and the region of Cumilla with hails at isolated places, it said.

The highest temperature on Thursday was recorded 38 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi, while today’s minimum temperature was 21.8 degrees Celsius in Tatulia under Rangpur division.
