The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Ganajagaran Mancha spokesperson Imran H Sarker.
He was whisked from a rally protesting ‘extra-judicial killings', in the capital’s Shahbagh, RAB-3 chief Emranul Haque said.
“He has been held for holding an unauthorized rally in Shahbagh. Legal proceeding will be taken against him,” said the RAB officer.
According to Ganajagaran Mancha activists, police and RAB stopped from holding their planned rally on Wednesday afternoon at Shahbagh. The law enforcers allegedly charged batons to disperse the demonstrators.
“Soon after, RAB-3 personnel whisked away Imran H Sarker in a car,” one of the demonstrators told Bangla Tribune.

Shahbagh police declined to comment on the detention.
“We have not detained anyone. The Chhatra Union (a leftist student body) was holding a demonstration and Imran H Sarker was there,” OC Abul Hasan told Bangla Tribune.
