The hawkers at the capital’s Motijheel have taken to the streets protesting their eviction from the sidewalks without being relocated.
The hawkers took a stand at the Shapla Chattar on Wednesday (Apr 10) demanding that they be allowed to resume business at the sidewalks as usual.
“We were evicted without being relocated,” said Rafik, a hawker.
They claim that since the eviction they have no work and are unable to support their families.
