Police Thursday night arrested an imposter who pretended to be an official of Japan International Cooperation Agency [JICA].
Cyber Security department of Dhaka Metropolitan Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit arrested Hasan Apu, 30, from Gazipur.
Cyber Security department official Nazmul Islam said, “Hasan pretended to be a JICA officer and sent fake emails to different companies and got Tk 90 crore work order. He also collected Tk 15 lakh as advance.”
He said, the police investigated about Hasan after getting a complaint and found fake ID and a business card from his possession.
A case under ICT act was filed with Tejgaon police station against Apu.
