A man has been killed after a bus rammed his rickshaw in Dhaka.
The incident was reported from the city’s Gulistan on Sunday (Apr 7), said police.
Around 8am, a bus operated by Jainpur Paribahan hit the rickshaw throwing off its driver, said Sub-Inspector Masud Rana of Paltan police station.
“The bus ran over the rickshaw-puller killing him on the spot. The bus has been seized but the driver managed to flee,” he said.
The victim has been identified as 60-year-old Zakir Hossain.
Hossain, who hailed from Dhaka’s Nawabganj Upazila, lived with his wife and four children at the city’s Jatrabari, his brother Anwar Hossain told the media at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
