Three drug dealers killed in Dhaka ‘shootout’Three alleged drug dealers were killed in a shootout with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Bhashantek area of the capital early Wednesday, RAB said.
The deceased are Bappi, 38, Ataur Rahaman Ata, 40, and Mostafa Howlader, 45.
RAB's Legal and Media Wing Director Mufti Mahmud Khan told Bangla Tribune, the force began raiding near Dewanpara bridge of Bhashantek at late night, triggering the shootout.
The trio was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and declared dead around 6am, said DMCH police outpost in-charge Bacchu Mia.
RAB also seized a large amount of drug substances, arms and bullets during the raid.
Of the three, Mostafa was named in 7 to 8 cases while Bappi was named in a murder case, RAB-4 Commanding Officer Chowdhury Mojurul Kabir said.
