The decision was taken Monday at a DU Syndicate meeting which also decided to form a five-member committee to investigate the allegation brought against Marketing Department teacher Morshed Anam Khan.
DU Vice Chancellor Dr Aktaruzzaman said, “We have acted upon the recommendations of the disciplinary committee and sacked the former registrar. We have also formed a five-member investigation committee to look into the allegation against the Marketing department teacher.”
In 2016 Syed Rezaur Rahman was assigned to publish the DU annual publication where it wrongly printed ‘Ziaur Rahman was the first president of Bangladesh’.
It is mentionable, the first president of Bangladesh is Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The syndicate also formed the probe committee led by pro vice-chancellor Mohammad Samad as the Marketing department teacher distorted history in one of his articles titled ‘Joytirmoy [Shining] Zia’ published recently.
Morshed Anam Khan, now suspended, also showed disrespect to Bangabandhu in his article published in a national daily on March 26 this year.
