On occasion of the Independence Day of Bangladesh, the tallest building in Dubai, the Burj Khalifa, was decorated in red and green – the national colours of Bangladesh, on Mar 26 at 9.40pm.

The illumination lasted for 25 seconds and the Bangladeshi expatriates rejoiced when their national colours were lighted up.

Burj Khalifa is often illuminated in the national colours of other countries to express solidarity with special moments of different nations.

The Bangladeshi expats in Dubai thanked the UAE government, saying in unison, “We are grateful and impressed by the honour shown to Bangladesh by the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammad al Makhtum.”
