A motorcycle rider was killed in the capital after he was run over by a Bus.

The victim has been identified as Nurul Islam Shanto, 30.

The incident was reported around 9am at Mirpur’s Shewrapara area where a Tetulia Paribahan bus ran him over.

Police rushed critically injured Shanto to Agargaon’s National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation, better known a Pongu hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, Mirpur Model police OC Dadan Fakir told Bangla Tribune.

The killer bus driver has been arrested while the Bus has been impounded, he added.

Earlier on Mar 19, a university student was killed in a similar fashion in front of the Jamuna Future Park in the capital prompting protests by the students.
