The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) celebrated Independence Day on its campus in the capital’s Dhanmondi on Sunday (Mar 24), says a press release.
International broadcaster Shameem Chawdhury was present as the Chief Guest. The program started with an opening speech by ULAB Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shamsad Mortuza. National Professor Dr Rafiqul Islam then shared his first-hand experiences of the Liberation War.
Shameem Chawdhury then delivered her speech. She spoke of her experiences as a reporter for foreign news agencies. A documentary named “Bangladesh er Mukti Songramer Itihash” created by Muktijuddho Jadughor was also screened during the program.
Earlier in the day, ULAB Library organized a book and photo exhibition which was inaugurated by National Professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam in the Lobby of Campus A.
Professor Shamsad Mortuza, Professor Milan Kumar Bhattacharjee, Treasurer of university, Professor Akhter Ahmed, Registrar, K M Hasan Emam, Joint Librarian, students, faculty members and admin members of ULAB were present at the ceremony.
