The Gulshan Club has issued a security alert for its members following instructions by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
The club authorities, however, did not provide with any specific reason behind the alert, reports Dhaka Tribune,
“DMP has asked us to issue a security alert for our members as precaution. We have notified all of our members,” the club’s Senior Manager (Administration) Nurul Alam told the English daily.
Additional security measures have also been taken on the club premises as per police’s recommendations, he added.
“DMP is assisting us with whatever is required. We do not know any details on the issue, but police have deployed additional personnel at the check post in front of the club,” the report quoted the Gulshan Club official.
The local police could not be reached for comment immediately.
