The High Court has set Sunday (May 27) for hearing of the bail petitions filed by BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s lawyer in connection with two separate cases on over sabotage and defamation charges
A bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice JBM Hasan passed the order after hearing another bail petition of the BNP chief on Thursday (May 24).
Earlier, the HC closed its hearing on a bail plea of Khaled regarding a case filed for carrying out arson attack on a bus in Chouddagram of Cumilla district during the BNP-led alliance's movement on February 2, 2015.
Seven people were killed and 20 to 25 others injured in the arson attack.
On the following day, police filed a murder case accusing the BNP chief.
Khaleda sought bail after she was shown arrested in the case on April 5 this year.

Sabotage case in Cumilla
Hearing on Khlaed’s bail plea in connection with a case filed under Special Power Act for instigating vandalism and arson attack on a covered van in Choddogram area on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway on January 25 in 2015, will be held on Sunday (May 27).
Defamation case in Narail
A son of a freedom fighter filed a defamation case with a Narail court on December 24, 2015 three days after Khaleda at a discussion at the city raised questions about the actual number of Liberation War martyrs on December 21, 2015.
On April 16 this year, the BNP chief sought bail in the case.
