Hefazat-e-Islam has announced a protest demonstration and rally on Friday (Mar 8) over former minister Rashed Khan Menon’s remarks, which the Islamist termed as ‘objectionable.’

In a press release issued on Thursday (Mar 7), Hefazat said, ‘Former Minister Rashed Khan Menon supported the Ahmedia Muslim Jamaat in the parliament, insulted Hefazat Amir Ahmed Shafi and made objectionable comments about the Qawmi Madrasa.”

Hefazat said it will hold a protest procession and rally at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

Dhaka Metropolitan Hefazat Chairman Nur Hossain Kashemi will lead the rally, added the press release.
