The Civil Aviation Authority has ordered the withdrawal of six security personnel, deployed Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport, over the Feb 24 attempted hijack of Bangladesh Biman’s BG 147 flight.
The security personnel are – Domestic terminal’s armed security guard Md Yunus Hawlader, Security Supervisor at Heavy Luggage Gate (North) Scanning Md Lehaj Uddin Bhuiyan, domestic terminal’s cabin baggage scanning gate operator and Ansar member Aleem Hossain, Body search officer Ansar member Mahfuzur Rahman, Heavy luggage Gate (North) body search officer Saddam Hossain and Air Force Security Force member Post Supervisor Sergeant Sajedul Islam.
On Feb 24, the Dubai-bound Boeing 737-800 aircraft made an emergency landing at the Chattogram airport around 5:41pm after a youth named Polash Ahmed allegedly attempted to hijack the plane.
He was later killed in an eight-minute operation by military para-commandos.
